Resettlement for Afghan Nationals in New Zealand

Evacuees from Afghanistan will now have the opportunity to settle permanently in New Zealand under the Afghan Emergency Resettlement Visa category. Holders of this category will benefit from housing support, funded health services, and other Government services. 

Afghan citizens already in Afghanistan on 15th August 2021 can apply for this visa. The eligibility criteria include:

• Holders of critical purpose visa

• Holders of temporary entry visas or resident visas

Partners and dependent children who were overseas will also be able to make an application separately under partnership.
